Recovering from Our Addiction to Soul Murder: Kerry Connelly

Recovering from Our Addiction to Soul Murder: Kerry Connelly

A few years ago, Kerry Connelly had an encounter with civil rights leader Ruby Sales, and it changed everything. It set her on a path to engage her complicity in the structures of racism, and to start to dismantle them.

Her recent book, Good White Racist?, is a deep exploration of the stories we tell ourselves, and the stories we tell others. It is honest, eye-opening, and life changing in its scope.

Our conversation starts with naming our privilege, and concludes with naming our hope. In between, there’s some real talk about the work that still needs to be done.

Kerry Connelly is a writer, life coach, author of the no-nonsense blog Jerseygirl, JESUS, and host of the podcast White on White, which reimagines white identity apart from pseudo-supremacy. She is currently pursuing an MDiv at Christian Theological Seminary. She lives in New Jersey with her family.
