A World Entirely Different, and Entirely Recognizable: Lil Copan

A World Entirely Different, and Entirely Recognizable: Lil Copan

Debut novelist Lil Copan brings us a book for birdwatchers, coffee drinkers, baseball fans, bumper-sticker readers, animal lovers and all those who care about life's most piercing, unanswerable, tender, humanizing questions.

One set of letters over the course of two years reveals deep internal conflicts, a small farm on the verge of going under, a nun with a gambling addiction, and another with a profound secret that might upend everything the community worked so hard for.

Lil Copan is an editor, arts columnist, and painter. This is her first work of fiction and brings together longtime interests in contemplative spirituality, baseball, and birding. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Lil has degrees in art and creative writing. In addition to a long history in editorial work, she has worked as a curatorial assistant at an art museum, a high school English teacher, and a corn detasseler in Iowa fields. She leads workshops on spiritual writing and creative nonfiction.
